Daily Devotions with Kwok Choy (#7)

WOW!!! 1 WEEK ANNIVERSARY OF DAILY DEVOS!

Well today's devotional is based off Genesis 37-50 (Pretty much The Story of Joseph)

Wow... yesterday we saw how bad of a relationship Jacob had with Esau, Jacob eventually had to run away!
But today, it gets worse.

Joseph (from what I interpreted was a bragger, "Hey guys, guess what? When I grow up y'all are going to bow down to me") was a nuisance to his brothers, not only was he a nuisance, he was his father's favorite.

There is nothing wrong with being someone's favorite. It's what you do with that "privilege" that make people dislike you. If you go around with your head held high, that's not good...

Joseph's brothers hated him so much, so they went as far as try to kill him, but they decided to sell him into slavery instead (oh that's so much better)

After that Joseph was a good boy. He served his master so well, he was head of the slaves, and he continued to be good and trusted in God, but then he got into some trouble when the wife lied.

Well then Joseph went to jail, Pharoah promoted him, and he helped save Egypt!

Well the moral and my thoughts?

Trust in God! That's what Joseph did!

Daily Devotions with Kwok Choy (#6)

Today's Devotional is from Genesis 22-24

Without realizing it, I already blogged about Isaac and Abraham.. but it didn't come up until 22-24

So I'll blog about Genesis 25-35

Wow... talk about sibling rivalry. "Do you want some soup?" "Heck Yea!" "Sell me ur birth right first"

Wow... I don't have any siblings, but I know sometimes they can be quite ferocious (for example not pointing fingers.. Cough Ariel & Ray cough cough Nick and Jessie cough cough) Just kidding...

So let's have this devotion be about Siblings

Siblings are your best friends, or can be bad relatives, its your choice. All people need to learn, to respect others even if you don't like them. I was watching The Biggest Loser and it was sad to see all the quarrels they got into. They didn't need to be friends, all they needed to do was respect each other.

THINK ABOUT THAT!

P.S (sry for short post... will try to do better)

Daily Devotions with Kwok Choy (#3)

WOW! I have to apologize for yesterday, cause I barely made it! I published the post at 11:59, but that is still called Friday! :P

Daily Devos! Yay! I enjoy doing these, and according to my blog, no one has read them yet... But I will continue to do this amazing thing!

Today's devotion comes from Genesis 6-9

Putting 3 chapters is quite a lot... so I am going to just give you the headings.
Wickedness in the World
Noah and the Flood
God's Covenant with Noah
The Sons of Noah

Wow... Genesis is such a monumental book. The creation of the entire world, the fall of man, and the flood!
If you are pretty familiar with the story of Noah, I might bring up a part of the story that some may never have recalled. (Prior to this, God reduced all of our years to about 120 years) Well, why the flood? People say it is the wickedness of the Earth, that is but half the answer, look at verse 4 of Genesis 6

4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

If I interpret the verse correctly, I will be surprised, cause this is a heck of a verse, so little details, and so much confusion.
First, who are the Nephilim? According to the verse, it says they were sons of God. Later in verse 5, God says how much wickedness was on the Earth, so these Nephilim could not have been good. These must have been fallen angels! Fallen angels who made babies with humans.
(Can't take all credit here to my own self, I learned this in Bible class)

So that is what I believe to be 1 reason God flooded the Earth.

BTW, people believe that the Grand Canyon happened by erosion over millions of years, I believe that only the flood could have done something like that!

So Noah is instructed to build this ark, (because he was a righteous man), this was no 3 month thing, it took a long time, years even, and was commanded to take a pair of each animal. (How would you get tigers and lions on the ship? I believe that Noah chose baby animals, so that they wouldn't be as harmful)

People look to the ark as something that was really nice, Goodness! People made little toy arks for kids, with pairs of animals. They even have a museum in Hong Kong devoted to Noah's Ark. People don't realize the flood is one of the worst things to have occurred to the Earth. People might have imagined this as a lovely cruise to safety, but no it was terrible, looking outside of the ark, to see screaming people, dying, and animals screeching, and once everything had died, looking at rotting carcasses floating on top of the water, young and old, male and female. This was no vacation ya'll. This was a thing that was so terrible, that God promised to never do it again in his covenant to Noah.
Look around us now, sin is all around. Lots and lots of sin, look at our figure heads, wayward politicians, child molesters, murders, If God did not promise to Noah he wouldn't flood the entire Earth ever again, I wonder if there wouldn't be another flood.

Daily Devotions with Kwok Choy (#2)

Gosh! Well, I almost broke daily in 2 days. (Sry y'all) Well after contemplating on the material I'm using, I decided to use the Bible more then the devotional, after all the Bible is God's spoken word! HECK YEAH! We have it and we get to use it! :)

Genesis 2-3 is our focus for today. (This will be a bit short, due to the fact I started @ 11:50; Did I mention I procrastinate?)

To summarize the chapters, God created for Adam a wife, Eve. Eve and Adam both eat of the forbidden fruit, and are banished from the Garden of Eden.

Wow... one of the biggest parts in the Bible occur in Genesis 3, the first sin. (Yes we blame Adam and Eve for committing the first sin, but I'm pretty sure someone else would have committed one by now if not) People wonder, why did God even place the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil in the garden? Why not leave it out, if he did we would still be in the Garden of Eden!!! Sry, no, the tree was a need the tree represented God's love for us through freedom; we would not want to be robots who listened and obeyed everything we heard. God wanted us to use the freedom to follow his plans.

People say Christians don't have freedom, that they live super conservative lives, but that's not true! Christians have more freedom than anybody, because Christians have the freedom to do WHAT IS RIGHT! God cares about us enough, to give us that amazing freedom!

THINK ABOUT THAT

(sry, too short, but 11:59) :D

Daily Devotions with Kwok Choy (#1)

Hmm... I want to bring a spiritual aspect to my blog so here goes...

Let's start with Genesis, I LOVE Genesis, because this is probably the most general book in the Bible (meaning that we don't know where the Ark is, or what happened to the Garden of Eden)

I am using the FAITH FACTOR OT to help me in my devotions.

The world, have you ever wondered about what happened before life, or what will happen after? I have, and believe me in saying, it's a headache. We can't fathom time, only God can, that's why he is omnipresent! When reading in Genesis that God breathed into man the breath of life! WOW!!! OUR CREATOR, greater than anything and everything, breathed into a mere man the breath of life! What happened to all the rest of creation, God spoke them into existence, but what did he do with us? He really breathed into our nostrils the breath of life!
Breath now, and feel that, that is air, might not be pure oxygen, and at 1 point, our forefather breathed God's breath! (I'm pretty sure it smelled awesome! like a really delicious herb, or an herbacious flower, or even food :P) I'm so ecstatic right now about how it's so awesome that God did this for us, and unfortunately later, I will forget, I will go on and continue my life, keeping God in my mind for only a fraction of the day, that is one of the worst things to realize, we can't give God our best.
Supernatural High is part of my title for this blog. I want to reach a Supernatural High, (this is the feeling you feel @ revival, the feeling you feel in intense small group discussions, the amazing feeling you feel when God's amazing presence is staring at you in the face, beside you on both sides, hugging you, and in your heart at the same time) the feeling is amazing! These highs don't last forever, I wish they did, but then we would never have a need in our heart, meaning we would be perfect, which were not, so back on topic...
(Next time I post I need to turn Gmail off so I don't get distracted) <--- sorry not very on topic there either. So God creates us, doesn't make us robots (yay) and makes us special... and we just pretend like it never happen? Claiming that he's out there, but we can't reach him? By saying he doesn't exist!
I was in Bio today, and we were learning about Protein Synthesis, Its crazy how awesome it is! BILLIONS AND BILLIONS OF CELLS and they all know how to do this. Their is a language for the rna to understand, it's so complicated, yet every single cell in you body and my body know how to do it. They know how to get it right, except when mutations occur,( but God didn't create that, when man sinned, he did.) (I can't believe I'm spilling my story to an online thing, wow... I need a journal) AND yet we believed that there is no creator.. gosh...
