Devotions with Kwok Choy [#10]

Hey I will start these again :) My mom reminded me that even if no one reads these, God will and that's all that matters. Today's scripture is John 3, especially John 3:14 & 16

"Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,

"For God so loved he world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Some of this is my personal opinion, but a lot of this is from our Bible class. Nicodemus was a Pharisee. Pharisees were the most influential people in Jesus' time. They followed the law, but they "hedged" the law, meaning that they added other laws around it so they didn't break the Bible's law. For example, if reading a certain book, the Pharisees would add the laws, don't touch it, don't go near it, don't think about it, and don't want it. So anyways, there is a quick Bio about the Pharisees for you. :)

My teacher talked about how everyone is going to have a ticket to get in to heaven. It has your name, your good deeds, whether you believe in Jesus or not, etc. Nicodemus asked Jesus if he had the right ticket, and Jesus said in order to have the right ticket, one has to be born again. Now Nicodemus was super confused, because He thought that how does one go back into his mother's womb? What if your mother already passed? But Jesus didn't mean that. He just meant that one needs to have a new life in him. He was sharing the gospel with Nicodemus about himself! No one else on Earth could do that!

Think about it! No caps :)

Daily Devotions with Kwok Choy (#7)

WOW!!! 1 WEEK ANNIVERSARY OF DAILY DEVOS!

Well today's devotional is based off Genesis 37-50 (Pretty much The Story of Joseph)

Wow... yesterday we saw how bad of a relationship Jacob had with Esau, Jacob eventually had to run away!
But today, it gets worse.

Joseph (from what I interpreted was a bragger, "Hey guys, guess what? When I grow up y'all are going to bow down to me") was a nuisance to his brothers, not only was he a nuisance, he was his father's favorite.

There is nothing wrong with being someone's favorite. It's what you do with that "privilege" that make people dislike you. If you go around with your head held high, that's not good...

Joseph's brothers hated him so much, so they went as far as try to kill him, but they decided to sell him into slavery instead (oh that's so much better)

After that Joseph was a good boy. He served his master so well, he was head of the slaves, and he continued to be good and trusted in God, but then he got into some trouble when the wife lied.

Well then Joseph went to jail, Pharoah promoted him, and he helped save Egypt!

Well the moral and my thoughts?

Trust in God! That's what Joseph did!

Daily Devotions with Kwok Choy (#5)

Today's devotion is off Genesis 13-19

(BTW I am only using devotional for reference, everything else is original)

Lot... Lot picked what he thought what was the good life.

(Big switch... need to pour feelings out)
My friend and I were reminiscing of our "group's" time previously.... Lot chose what he thought would be nice... But what I think would be the best, would (in my opinion) be to give money to the shepherds and collaborate. Friends are more important than fighting over for sheep. ( I didnt recall Lot ever back with Abraham after leaving)

God is our friend, I wish I could feel the full extent of that friendship now, but I know I will feel it fully in heaven. Friends are kinda why people can go through school, why people are on the internet. Friends are lets face it, why we face the open world. (back to devos)

well tat wasn't all to irrelevant.
but here's a challenge:
Challenge: Tell a friend that they meant a heck of a lot to you. (That will make a day, any day :) )

I will leave this devotion hanging so y'all (hopefully, its y'all don't know how much people view this) can fill in the blanks and "meditate" on it :)

THINK ABOUT THAT!

BTW: sry it was kinda short... had better things to do, like idk, talking with friends?

:P

Daily Devotions with Kwok Choy (#2)

Gosh! Well, I almost broke daily in 2 days. (Sry y'all) Well after contemplating on the material I'm using, I decided to use the Bible more then the devotional, after all the Bible is God's spoken word! HECK YEAH! We have it and we get to use it! :)

Genesis 2-3 is our focus for today. (This will be a bit short, due to the fact I started @ 11:50; Did I mention I procrastinate?)

To summarize the chapters, God created for Adam a wife, Eve. Eve and Adam both eat of the forbidden fruit, and are banished from the Garden of Eden.

Wow... one of the biggest parts in the Bible occur in Genesis 3, the first sin. (Yes we blame Adam and Eve for committing the first sin, but I'm pretty sure someone else would have committed one by now if not) People wonder, why did God even place the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil in the garden? Why not leave it out, if he did we would still be in the Garden of Eden!!! Sry, no, the tree was a need the tree represented God's love for us through freedom; we would not want to be robots who listened and obeyed everything we heard. God wanted us to use the freedom to follow his plans.

People say Christians don't have freedom, that they live super conservative lives, but that's not true! Christians have more freedom than anybody, because Christians have the freedom to do WHAT IS RIGHT! God cares about us enough, to give us that amazing freedom!

THINK ABOUT THAT

(sry, too short, but 11:59) :D
