Daily Devos with Kwok Choy (#4)

It's Sunday Sunday gotta get to church on Sunday, everyone's looking forward to the service,... jk....

Well today's devo is from Genesis 12-17

Well, Abraham had to trust God. That's plain and simple, so many times; leaving his country, sacrificing his son, passing through Egypt, his son & covenant!

Abraham is a great father figure, because of this trust, it wasn't perfect trust, but it was trust. Abraham was leaving his inheritance, his family, his land, and most likely his comfort zone. People don't really like to leave comfort zones. I've never experienced going to college and coming back for break (I've never even left for college for te first time), but when people go back to college, (for some, it's, "Great no parents, P-A-R-T-Y! :D :D :D :D", and others are "Meh", and others "Aww... I miss parents, and friends"... ) they leave their comfort zones. What Abraham experienced (Sorry for that little college thing, College peeps are leaving and Kwok Choy is sad :( :( yea...) was so much worse. He went through the desert to a random place He never knew about, with no one he knew but his wife and slave, (maybe a little more)

His biggest instance of trust was when he almost sacrificed Isaac. Imagine waiting years for a child, then God told you you were having a child, then waiting another 6 years for one, then finally having one, and then God asked you to sacrifice him! WOW! Abraham didn't waver, he didn't say no, he went through it... almost went through it. God stopped him :) so Isaac still was alive. I can't imagine doing that. So hard. So much trust involved.

Prompt of the week: Trust God in what he tells you!

THINK ABOUT THAT
