EK5 with DJ Kwokodile 5/22/12

OK, now that The Voice is over, that must mean no songs from the show right??? I beg to differ, this probably will be the last playlist filled with The Voice songs. Also included in this playlist are selections of rap, rock, and r&b.

1. [Somewhere Only We Know] - Pip
I watched the performance live, and I have no idea why I didn't like it, maybe he was pitchy, well he was very pitchy at the end... Well I came across this song and started listening to it and instantly fell in love with! This is has been my renewal for my hope in Pip. He has a kickstarter account and he needs a lot of money! Help support him here! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/713719482/help-pip-make-his-debut-album!

2. [Walking On the Moon] - Karmin
I have loved Karmin since their youtube days and was excited to see that they got a legit album out with legit singles that are charting! So this song is not charting, but it is still really good. I think this is one of their best songs.

3. [Whistle/Wild Ones (feat. Juliet Simms)] - Flo Rida
I never thought I would listen to this song, but since Juliet is singing in it, I feel like I have an excuse to listen to it, it is really good, I feel like Flo Rida is the clearest and the least auto-tuned, since he doesn't sound airy or breathy when he raps which shows that he is good, unlike others <cough> Kid Cudi <cough>

4. [Yesterday] - Adam Levine & Tony Lucca
This was one of my most favorite duets of the night, this one and Christina's and Chris's were pretty tight, but because I know the words and it is catchy. I don't know Latin, so, that's why I enjoy this one more. I just love Adam Levine's voice, I wouldn't have minded if Tony wasn't included in the record.

5. [I Want You Back (feat. Jamar Rogers, James Massone, & Pip)] - Jermaine Paul
This was the best final performance, all guys sang so great, it especially showed that Pip was not diminishing in his quality of voice, he is still sounding great and all the guys just sounded really great together!

Hope you enjoyed the playlist!

The Voice Season 2 Episode Recaps with DJ Kwokodile [Quarterfinals 2]

I might be repeating a little, but I think that Adam was the strongest to begin with and that Cee Lo was the weakest, boy was I wrong! Cee Lo is definitely the favorite to win with either Juliet or Jamar. The weakest is either Xtina or Blake.

Quick Summary:
Jamar Rogers: It's My Life [8/10] It was good, but not exceptional
Katrina Parker: Jar of Hearts [9.5/10] Definitely her A+ game
Mathai: I'm Like a Bird [6/10] She did amazing with the song she had, but the song choice was...
James Massone: Just The Way You Are [5/10] Didn't really like it.
Tony Lucca: ...Baby One More Time [9/10] Nice to see a better side to Tony, still don't like him.
Cheesa: I Have Nothing [9/10] Cheesa's best performance.
Pip: Somewhere Only We Know [6/10] Really pitchy, didn't like it.
Juliet Simms: Cryin' [9/10] Amazing stage, amazing voice, great song, not amazing.

Instant Eliminations:
They were the right choices, even though Pip was one of my favorites on the show, I did feel like he did the worst of all of the 4. James knew his time had come, and all of the rest did well but him.

America's Saved: Tony Lucca & Jamar Rogers

Mathai: Cowboy Casanova [9/10] I really liked this performance, even though she was nervous, it didn't show
Katrina Parker: Perfect [9/10] Really good, Katrina is good, she better beat Tony!
Cheesa: Already Gone [6/10] Really pitchy, didn't like it.
Juliet Simms: Torn [9.5/10] So good, good amount of rasp! Love it!

Eliminated Mathai & Cheesa.
I was really upset that Mathai was eliminated but Katrina is really good. I really wanted Cheesa gone, I wanted Angie in from the beginning, but Cheesa won, so I didn't like her very much.

The Voice Season 2 Recaps with DJ Kwokodile [#8]

Very bad bad round, I must admit >.<

1. [You Know I'm No Good] - Pip vs. Nathan Parrett
I thought it was quite sad that BFF's were paired together, but they sounded really good together! I would have to say that Pip was a shoo in. Adam picked Pip.

2. [What's Love Got to Do With It] - Erin Martin vs. The Shields Brothers!
Wow! Worse battle so far! They sounded bad, Erin's uniqueness didn't shine in this song. The brothers were better, but were still off key. Terrible! Cee Lo picked Erin.

3. [No Air] - Ashley De La Rosa vs. Jonathas
Christina must take so much time to figure out the battle pairings and songs, since they all turn out so well, with No Air with Ashley and Jonathas, and Heart-Shaped Box with Lindsey and Lee. They were really good, but Jonathas kept to his voice, and didn't sound good. Christina picked Ashley.

4. [Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car] - Jermaine Paul vs. ALyX
They were pretty good. It was a little boring, but the vocals were there. Jermaine is very very strong, Blake picked Jermaine.

5. [Bleeding Love] - Katrina Parker vs. Angel Taylor
So sad, Angel didn't perform well because of the song. Katrina shined really bright in this song, and Adam picked her.

6. [We Belong] - Erin Willett vs. Gwen Sebastian
They were both really good, I would have gone with Gwen, but it was Blake's ultimate choice. Blake picked Erin. I actually heard that Gwen is now backgrounding for Blake in his tour, so it was a win for her, even though she lost.

Last battles next Monday!
Pairings are as following:
The LiNE vs. Moses Stone
Naia Kete vs. Jordan Rager
Justin Hopkins vs. Tony Vincent
Karla Davis vs. Orlando Napier
James Massone vs. WADE
Nicolle Galyon vs. Mathai! <-- best for last!

THE VOICE Season 2 Recaps with DJ Kwokodile [#3]

WOW! Finally got the music :) but unfortunately the album covers are less than satisfactory... only 170 x 170 :( But that doesn't matter right now! I'm blogging for the first time in forever! So the next one will come out ASAP!

1. [You and I] - Sarah Golden
This was a fair song. The choice wasn't the best. I was a bit confused why they blurred her out during the interview, but now I know. I'm rather surprised she picked CeeLo! I think Blake could have helped her more, now she will most likely be cut during the Battle Rounds.

2. [The House of the Rising Sun] - Pip
I think this is the best guy in the competition by far! He is so awesome! The way he dresses is so awesome, and he sounds so much older than he is! Really great! So great that all 4 turned! Adam was the ultimate victor however.

3. [I Want You Back] - Erin Willett
I was so glad she got picked, after her story. She was good, but she wasn't that good. I'm glad Blake picked her!

4. [One of Us] - Katrina Parker
For some reason, I didn't really like her, but I am quite glad that Adam picked her!

5. [Higher Ground] - Geoff McBride
Wow! He was really good! He had a lot of soul! I think Cee Lo made a mistake by pushing his button too late. Christina will be able to do pretty cool things with him!

6. [Hey There Delilah] - Erin Martin
This voice blew me. It was in a good and bad way. Her voice was good, but you either love her or hate her. I think she should have gone with Blake! Blake has the art of helping the unique voices, but it was still good she went with Cee Lo!

7. [Find Your Love] - James Massone
He was really good! I love this Drake rendition! He was really good! He is really strong and Cee Lo will do well with him.

8. [Grenade] - Chris Cauley
He played it pretty safe according to me. He didn't have any really variety in range. He was good and I'm glad he picked Adam!

9. [The Joker] - Nathan Parrett
Team Adam :)

10. [Paris (Ooh La La)] - Brian Fuente
Team Blake :)

11. [Let's Get It Started] - Moses Stone
Team Xtina :)

12. [Maybe I'm Amazed] - Jordis Unga
She was really good! She had lots and lots of power and range! I'm so glad she picked Blake!

I HOPE YOU ENJOY! SORRY FOR THE WAIT!

P.S I will not comment on the songs that weren't played for a regular audition.
