Ethan's Playlist 10/14/12 [Pop]

Yeah, this is a really pop-y playlist. Here is my way with pop, if the lyrics and meaning are clean, I am ok with it. If it sounds good, awesome. This is a really really pop-y playlist. Just a lot of interesting pop music right now, <cough> t swizzle... Yes, I like t swizzle. Problem? I think not. I used to bash on guys who listened to t swizzle, but her dubstep-y songs are so entrancing. Yeah, extreme ends of pop.

One of my favorite alternative singers and one of my favorite dance artists in one song. Heck yes. They did another song, Spectrum (Say My Name), which I liked, but this song is more special because it is not a remix.

2. [I Knew You Were Trouble] - Taylor Swift
Yeah, here is the t swizzle. Here dubstep-y song is so catchy. I like it her better then her lovey-dovey songs.

3. [Dashes] - Tyler Ward
I really wish I could say that I knew Tyler before he became big on youtube. It just didn't happen. I actually bought his whole EP. I have to say, I am very impressed. I thought that it would just be some original songs already on youtube, but no, all new amazing stuff.

3. [Try] - P!nk
Crap, Ethan has gone from Taylor Swift to now P!nk! Oh goodness. Don't worry, I'm not obsessed with P!nk, just this one song. I heard a great cover of this song and I just liked the original more. Never give up is the way I interpret the song.

4. [My Blood] - Ellie Goulding
And Ellie Goulding!... Lot of the electronic clean pop has really gotten to me. I really like this song, Ellie Goulding has really transitioned from her other albums into a more dubstep-y album.

5. [The Way We Are] - Tyler Ward
Another one of my favorites from the EP! This was my original favorites, but I over listened to it and now I really like Dashes.

6. [Red] - Taylor Swift
again, t swizzle's electronica/dubstep-y songs are really getting me hooked yo.

7. [Lucky Strike] - Maroon 5
An extremely catchy song by Maroon 5. Adam Levine's voice is so nasty sick.

8. [I Love You] - 2NE1
I always thought you pronounced 2NE1 as, "2-N-E-1", but in reality it is pronounced as 21. Does K-Pop fit the pop category? Well, whatever, in my book it does. I really like this Korean girl band. Dara and CL. They are all so talented. Hope they can breakthrough in the US.

Ethan's Playlist 9/6/12

Well, today is the day for a playlist! If there are some people out there who don't like my genre playlist, do not worry, for today is a general playlist day! If you did not know September Music Month started this month. Lots of good albums will come out this month. Here they are: Sept. 4 Lecrae & Imagine Dragons, Sept. 11 Dave Matthews Band, Sept. 18 Tyler Ward & The Killers, Sept. 25 Mumford & Sons and Deadmau5.
1. [Bleeding Out] - Imagine Dragons
I found this band like a couple of months ago when their first digital EP came out, Continued Silence and just absolutely fell in love with their music and style. This is by far their best song, that I have found so far, and they are doing great on iTunes... Yay! Also, check out their also awesome song, It's Time.

Yeah, Ethan didn't you mention that Lecrae's album came out September 4th... Wait that was 2 days ago! Yep! I was quite excited...  I am such a big fan of both Lecrae and Mathai. I think I like Mathai a little more... she has more plays on iTunes. Well, I really like this song and I think it is just great.

3. [So Sick] - Sam Tsui & Max Schneider
I really like both of these guys' voices. They are so good, and I thought they wouldn't really compliment each other, but they really do. This is such a good cover and the original is pretty cool too. I am glad they did this collaboration together, it is sooo good. This would have topped the list if I did a playlist a week ago.

4. [Broke] - Kye Kye
So my awesome friend, <cough> Caitlyn, just kidding... Katelyn, haha, told me about this alternative band called Kye Kye. Well, I kinda didn't look them up till recently, because honestly, I did not think they would be that great... well, they are not that great... They are amazing! I really like this song, and the best thing is, all the lyrics are Bible verses, besides an occasional added word or two. So Katelyn, thank you so much for telling me about Kye Kye :).

5. [With Ur Love] - Cher Lloyd
Ok, this is kinda poppy... Ok it is really poppy... I thinks it catchy... ish.. Ok its catchy and she's pretty awesome. I liked her X-Factor stuff waaay more, like her rapping... and Stay.. but this will do...

6. [Fortune Teller] - Maroon 5
This was my favorite song for like 2 weeks, but the last time I did a general playlist was longer than that. So, now it has decreased in ranking, but it is my favorite Maroon 5 song, behind Payphone, which I am not sick of, I am just sick of people not being sick of it. I was there listening to the song the first time ever by the public, downloaded it the same night, and was obsessed with it months before it was popular... yeah... done ranting.... but it is fun singing with others.

Ethan's Playlist 6/26/12 [Linkin Park]

I have been thinking that Monday isn't the best time to post, because Tuesday is ALBUM RELEASE DATE! So I think I am going to move it to Tuesday, and yeah, I apologize for not posting yesterday... So, speaking of new albums, Linkin Park, Maroon 5, and Pentatonix have all released albums today! Their titles are LIVING THINGS, Overexposed, and PTX, Vol. 1, respectively. My internet is a little less cooperative right now, so for this week, no youtube links will be included, sorry for any inconvenience. This week hasn't been really full of new music, so I will do an artist spotlight... umm... Linkin Park!

Well, I have been only a recent fan of Linkin Park, umm, I wish I was a fan since Meteora or Hybrid Theory, but  I didn't listen to music back then... back then, I would listen to little children's songs, not full on Linkin Park...

Linkin Park's "Main Guy" actually isn't the lead vocalist, it is Mike Shinoda, the rapper and principal songwriter, not Chester Bennington. Mike Shinoda was one of the founders of the original band, Linkin Park

The first 2 albums, Hybrid Theory and Meteora were huge hits! Linkin Park has since released more albums, including Minutes to Midnight, A Thousand Suns, and LIVING THINGS.

One of their bigger flops was A Thousand Suns, released September 2010, it had a very small aprooval rating, averaging 3 out of 5 stars on iTunes. Their newest album, LIVING THINGS, was just released today! And so far, I think it is redemption!

It has 12 tracks and I have been listening to it on repeat and have found no problems with anything! I hope you enjoy the album cover and the list of the tracks, all CAPITALIZED!

LIVING THINGS

1. LOST IN THE ECHO
2. IN MY REMAINS
3. BURN IT DOWN
4. LIES GREED MISERY
5. I’LL BE GONE
6. CASTLE OF GLASS
7. VICTIMIZED
8. ROADS UNTRAVELED
9. SKIN TO BONE
10. UNTIL IT BREAKS
11. TINFOIL
12. POWERLESS

Haha, that was kinda short, Oh well, hope you enjoy! I hope you follow my blog!
