Sushi & Sashimi Etiquette

Tell, today, I witnessed 3 sushi murders. So terrible, so now I am writing a section on sushi & sashimi etiquette. (sushi in this case meaning all fish)

 1. Find yourself some chopsticks (minimally a fork)
(my equals were eating the sashimi with their bare hands, as fast as they could, complaining about how slimy and disgusting it tasted, and continually shoved it into their mouth regardless!)

 2. Mix together your soy sauce and wasabi. Make sure the wasabi and soy sauce are in the right ratio. This ratio applies to your power to handle the wasabi (delicious Japanese horseradish). (they also ate it plain, nothing wrong with plain, unless plain makes you not want to eat it!)

 3. Take your time to enjoy each piece, take time to enjoy each of the slice's of fish's unique flavor and texture. Also, many times restaurants will give you slices of pickled ginger, eat 1 slice (if you like it) after every slice of fish, this acts as a pallid cleanser!

4. It is always good to have a bowl of rice  (preferably sushi rice, but white rice is good as well) with your sushi, most Japanese don't, they prefer to eat straight sushi, but the rice and sashimi compliment each other well.

5. Make sure you finish your sushi! Do not take a takeout box with sushi! unless you have a fridge in your car... (my friend did that, and I was like..) If you don't finish give it to a friend :)

Well I went to Miyo's today! Well, it was called M Vista! Very Good!

P.S Seaweed salad is also great with sushi. Don't forget to eat the Carrot Medley which consists of carrot and Japanese daikon!
