Oh! Juliet Simms, Darling!, Stay With Me! Cuz I'm Cryin' for Roxanne in This Man's Man's Man's, World

Well, this will be one of my final posts on The Voice for the Season 2, and if you haven't already guessed, this one is on Mama Snakey, Juliet Simms! Since her blind audition was on the episode was after the Super Bowl, I missed her performance because I was on the way home from the Super bowl party. But don't worry, I went back and checked hers out. The first time I watched it I was in literal shock! I was so shocked by both her amazing gritty voice and sadly shocked that Blake didn't turn around, I thought she deserved 4 button pushes.

Juliet Simms with Coach Cee Lo Green after her amazing audition
Her blind audition was so good, it was so smart of her not to put everything on the table at the audition. Speaking truthfully, I did not think it was her best she could do. I really liked it, but she was not my favorite.  And I think it was not the strongest audition, I still think Lindsey's was the strongest, but Juliet was so smart on her coach decision. Not to make short of her performance, it was definitely one of my favorites, just not her best performance, she sang Oh! Darling by The Beatles. This was definitely an amazing job, regardless. 3 chairs turned around, Adam, Cee Lo, & Xtina. The obvious choices were either Adam or Xtina, but Juliet picked Cee Lo. Either Juliet was just full of love for Cee Lo, or she was executing an amazing strategy.

Juliet's amazing blind audition!
I am not going to hate on Cee Lo, but his team didn't do that well last year on the show, and I don't see too much coaching from him, but his charm and charisma does sell him at times. I think Juliet knew that Cee Lo's team would not be as strong as some of the other teams, and she knew she was extremely talented, and she knew she could easily lead a team if it wasn't too strong. If she decided on this strategy, she is the smartest person on this show that I have met.

Juliet rocking in the battles!
I must say that her battle was not too much to speak of, it was good, but it wasn't extremely good. This I think was mostly because of Cee Lo. First, he paired Juliet with Sarah Golden. They sang Stay With Me. I didn't think it was a fair nor very compatible duet. Sarah was a good folky artist and Juliet Simms is an amazing gritty rock. Cee Lo picked a rock song, so it wasn't going to blend all that well, if Cee Lo picked a different genre, it would have been a little bit better, but a rock song was like a complete set up. The one moment from the battle I remember the most, and love the most, was when Juliet screamed, "When I waaaaaake up!" That was so good, and it reminded why I loved her voice and her so much. For the record, I did not approve of her outfit, a little too short. I did think that Sarah was a little flat and pitchy. I thought it was a no brainer, like Christina said. It was a rock song, and a rock artist against a folk artist, hands down I thought Juliet was going to win, and she did. Blake picked Sarah and I felt the crowd go for Sarah as well, but Adam and Christina remembered what they saw at the Blinds and knew Juliet took it. Cee Lo was also smart to pick Juliet.

Roxanne!

This was by far her come back performance, I knew she was going to bring it. When I first heard her cover of Roxanne by The Police, I was so amazed! I thought it was one of the best things I have ever seen on the show ever, besides Heartless performed by Dia Frampton. She was so good! It totally revealed she was a huge force to reckon with. It was definitely her most amazing performance on yet. Her voice like Christina said is so doooope. I think that it was definitely her break out moment and she did a really good job with it. I am glad that she was saved by America and I thought that since she was called out first, she did win the votes. I am also glad to announce that she charted on the Hot Billboard 100, the first one from the live rounds to do so! She debuted and peaked at #86. If I was there, I would have given her a standing ovation.

Awesome Wings!
Her next performance was Cryin' by Aerosmith. I liked it, but I definitely did not think it was her best. I loved the black wings! It totally made my day, it was a little like the exact opposite of her other live performance, Roxanne was vocals while Cryin' was more staging. I loved the wings and the feathers. Her voice was still good, but I really wish she would pick a more of a power rock song... I like that big rock more than a softer rock. It was definitely another amazing performance by Mama Snakey!

I was so sad that she was not voted for by America, being beaten by Jamar Rogers. I was really upset, because he beat her. It definitely was not the end of the journey for Juliet, however, singing Torn for her Last Chance Performance. I thought she really brought it, sometimes I like listening to the vulnerable side to her voice sometimes, but I have to repeat again that I like her power more. I am more of the powerhouse kind of guy. I love big voices, that is why I yearn for Lindsey's power and I wish for Chris to be a true opera singer. I am so glad that all the coaches wanted to move Juliet forward. I am glad that Cee Lo picked her over Cheesa, who was super flat.

Woman's World Now!

Her semifinal performance was just amazing! I loved it so much! It was definitely her best performance, her natural gritty voice just made me smile! It was an amazing amazing performance by Mama Snakey! She brought down the house! Literally! Her voice and the song was so meaningful! I totally can see her win the whole competition! I appreciate all the amazing comments from the judges, they all seem to revere her as the winner! I think this was definitely the best song choice for her, because she might have known she was going to be the last woman in the whole competition, opposite of last year. I believe that she has come so far! I love her voice and I can see her crossing the finish line as #1!!! FTW SNAKEY MAMA!
